I have known Neil for many years and I cannot speak highly enough of the support he has given me in bringing his technical expertise and knowledge to my productions. In all my work in schools, it has always been my aim to deliver a professional standard to the audience. Neil’s work has always been instrumental in this. He listens well to the Director’s vision then offers helpful suggestions in trying to bring these ideas to life on the stage. In addition to his technical knowledge, Neil is himself highly creative and brings a wealth of possibilities to the lighting desk. He creates a broad and clever palate from which the Director can make informed decisions.

As if this were not enough, Neil is incredibly hardworking with an unshakeable commitment to excellence. He is unswayed by the enormous pressure of production, almost unflappable when things go wrong: indeed he seems to relish the challenge even more in times of adversity!

I am delighted to recommend Neil without hesitation. I have worked with many theatrical people over the years and he is undoubtedly one of the very best.

Neil Daykin has been the Lighting Designer for West Green House Opera since its conception.

Neil not only is responsible for all stage and auditorium lighting, working with each company performing; he also designs a complete new lighting design for the 10 acre garden each year.

Neil’s creativity is outstanding as well as his technical competence. He is reliable, works within the budget provided and is supportive and co-operative with us and all the workers on site during these days of intense preparations.

His supporting team is of excellent quality and Neil Daykin Lighting Design continues to be our design and installation contractor at West Green House
